Julie Smith

Senior Consultant

Julie is an experienced senior manager with more than 12 years’ experience in all aspects of HR management and strategy. She is a bilingual leader with over 29 years of progressively responsible public-sector expertise and has worked for seven provincial government departments over her public-sector career.

In addition to deep HR expertise and leadership, Julie led the performance excellence programs for two departments and is well versed in identifying inefficiencies and streamlining processes to help reduce strain on employees and leaders. She has extensive experience in helping leaders and employees solve problems, enhance their skills, improve engagement, and think strategically. She understands the machinery of government and how best to leverage people and processes to bring value. 

She quickly builds relationships with clients and stakeholders from different sectors and backgrounds, building trust and helping to engage and motivate them to achieve goals quicker. She has facilitated numerous sessions and focus groups on employee engagement, strategic planning and team building throughout her career with government.

She has an undergrad in Environment and Resources Studies, an MBA, and is a PROSCI® certified change management consultant.
